The Story Behind the StoryThis has been a special project for me from the beginning because my daughter, Emma, who was four years old at the time, helped me to write and illustrate it. Her opinions, suggestions and her exact words are found throughout this little story, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
On December 24, 2015, after getting all of the Christmas presents under the tree, I stayed up all night long finishing illustrations, setting up my Kindle Direct Publishing account, downloading the appropriate software and formatting my first ever children's picture ebook. At six a.m. on December 25th, I hit publish. Since then I have improved the illustrations, the layout and learned a ton about self publishing kids books with this story, and I am grateful for the experience:-) Board books, and print copies...
In October 2017, I put together a Kickstarter campaign with the goal of getting enough people to pre-order the board book that I could meet the minimum number needed to offset print this story as a board book. Even though our project was not successfully funded, we will be trying again in in the future. I'll update this page as updates become available.
